FROM THE PRESIDENT, Rick Poulette
2012 will bring us continuing and new challenges. We will once more be facing union busting legislation in Tallahassee in the upcoming legislative session. We will be battling to hold on to our Union rights and benefits, such as unemployment Comp, Workers Comp and Retirement Benefits (FRS). We are also bargaining a new three-year contract for 2012 in Palm Beach County.
We must work together, all of us. Your union cannot do it alone. We will be calling on each of you to help yourself and your families. As needed, we will be asking each of you to contact your legislators to help fight these bad anti-worker bills in Tallahassee. For Palm Beach County, we may be asking you to go to pickets, call your County Commissioners, write letters, send E Mail, wear buttons, stickers and pass out flyers. Be ready to fight in 2012. We are stronger together.

Welcome to the CWA Local 3181 Web Site!
Welcome to the Communications Workers of America Local 3181. Our Local represents over 2,400 Public employees who work for Palm Beach County, St. Lucie County School District and Village of Tequesta. We hope you find this site informative.
In CWA you are not alone. Our union represents more workers in customer service, technical support, and customer contact professions than any other union. And, wherever you live in the U.S., you are not far from members of our union. CWA represents more than 650,000 men and women like us all across the U.S. (Canada and Puerto Rico); in both the private and public sectors of the economy; in telecommunications and information technology; media and publishing; health care; higher education; law enforcement and public service; in the airlines and in manufacturing.

Local Secretary/Treasurer Reinstated
As many of you know, the County terminated our Secretary/Treasurer, Marcy Debrowski some time ago. We had the arbitration hearing last Thursday. On Monday the arbitrator ordered the County to reinstate Ms. Debrowski.
Thanks go out to our CWA Staff Representative, Gary McAllister who handled the arbitration for CWA Local 3181
Congratulations Marcy.
It does not cost to be a CWA member, it pays!
